I visited Kallar Meenmutty Waterfalls in Thiruvananthapuram on 18 January 2020 along with my friends. I reached there at 10:00 AM. Entry ticket is 30 Rs. per adult. Meenmutty Falls is a waterfall located 45 kilometres from Trivandrum city in Thiruvananthapuram District, the capital of Kerala, India. Meenmutty Falls gives a glimpse of natural beauty surrounded by the mountain ranges of
Western Ghats. The waterfall is located upriver the Neyyar reservoir area. No transportation is available so visitors have to trek 2km through the dense forests to reach the falls. It is very beautiful fall with beautiful surroundings. Jagged rocks and foamy waters, all in the midst of a forest right out of a story book, that's Meenmutty Falls near Trivandrum for you. This is the kind of place movie makers come to shoot because they are always on the lookout for the exotic. You may reach the place via Kozhikode. Meenmutty Falls fall from a staggering height of 1000 meters and has a fantastic three-tired look. From the parking space we need to walk around 2km long trail, through a forest, which is the awesome part of all.
We carry food and water while walking. The trek is truly relaxing and tiresome. Lots of ups and down and shallow river crossing.
Walking through the woods is the most super experience we can get from here. Hearing the sounds of nature gives us a very good experience.
On the way there are few spots available for take rest. Some eye-catching giant rocks and safe spots to take bath are the main attraction. The water is clean. Toilet facilities are available. Children’s play area available near parking.
It risky sometimes due to the wild animals, but they provide guard system to make us comfort. It’s a family friendly place and kids will enjoy too. This area is clean of garbage, and the water is fresh and clear. The paths are well built, but in normal trekking shoes is easier to trek. Plastic and liquor strictly prohibited. Risky to people who are facing health issues and not suitable for old peoples and infants.
Otherwise good atmosphere and service.
The only disappointment is we cannot go near the falls since there is some obstacles on the path, but there are permitted space to take bath. There is a restaurant beside to this waterfall entry so after completion our trekking we take food from there. By 1:00 PM I started my journey back to visit Ponmudi Hill Station.
One of the best place to visit in Trivandrum. You can enjoy natural beauty with superb waterfall. Option to take bath from water stream. The trek is truly relaxing. Good place to relax and explore. People who love trekking should visit this place at least one time. Everyone will enjoy river crossing on the way. Entry fee ticket for adult is Rs.30/-, Rs.10/- for kids, Rs.30/- for car parking. Security guards will
ensure that nobody gets into the water here.
Field trips allow the students to learn outside of the classroom. Many field trips combine educational content with team bui.lding activities. Field trip should not be taken as a pleasure trip, through it is a sort of an enjoyable activity. Field trip is an effective method for health promotion and education where we learn through direct experience in real situation.
